AmeriCoats Introduces High-End Powder Products

Utilizing input from powder end users during the past year has resulted in the development of exciting new powder technology platforms that will provide powder users the opportunity to improve their finishes.

High Reflectance White is designed for use in the lighting industry. It is offered in high gloss, low gloss and texture finishes. It can be supplied in TGIC, TGIC-free and urethane technologies. This powder has measured the highest reflectance value in the UV-Vis range when compared to other competitive high-end powders used in the fluorescent lighting market. 

Matte and Satin Clear exterior powders in the gloss range of 10-40 when measured at a 60° angle are also available. The identified need was for a clear powder in this gloss range that would resist yellowing during the cure process nor exhibit the “milky/cloudy appearance” common with low gloss and satin clear finishes. In addition, an FDA Clear Hybrid in the 20-30 gloss range was developed to satisfy the need for a clearcoat where food contact is common.

The company has also developed a cosmetically appealing pigmented Matte and Ultra Matte finishes in the 5-20 gloss range. While able to be formulated in any color, the primary color of need was black. Matte Finish (10-20 gloss) is available in standard and super durable TGIC formulas. Ultra Matte (5-10 gloss) is currently available in standard TGIC formulas. Both Matte and Ultra platforms are designed to provide smoothness, surface integrity, resistance to fingerprinting/smudging/scuffing, and exhibit the more jet black appearance when applied in a thickness range of 1.8 to 6 mils.
