I want to begin by thanking those folks who have contributed recently to our Membership Memo column: Joshua Gilmore, Sue Ivancic, Bob Cregg, Ricardo Miyares and Chris Merritt. We really get charged up when our members so passionately share the many important benefits they reap as a result of their company’s involvement in PCI.
In line with that, I want to take this opportunity to encourage our members to participate in this year’s Annual Meeting, which will be held June 20-23. As you may already know, for the first time PCI is co-locating its meeting with The Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) in beautiful Vail Valley, Colo. Many of our members are active in both associations, and this gives everyone the opportunity to network with the entire industry while saving time and money on additional travel to separate events.
Both organizations will have independent business segments of their own meetings, while the organizations will share common general sessions and social activities. Several registration categories will be available for members so they can choose whether they wish to attend either the CCAI or PCI meeting or attend both meetings.
We already have a great program scheduled that will include:
- It's Not Who You Know, It's Who Knows You! How to Build Your Business by Building Your Brand—David Arvin, The Visibility Coach
- Workplace Violence: It CAN Happen to You!—Shawna Neilson, Gibson Insurance
- Big Five: A Cool Tool for Priorities, Projects, and Appraisals—Roger Ferguson, ISI Human Resources Consulting
As always, we cap the event with our PCI Hall of Fame Reception and Dinner. Complete programming details are posted on our website along with registration information.
With a family-friendly agenda, consider making this event a part of your family vacation or simply lengthen your stay for a few relaxing days after the meeting. We’ve arranged for the meeting room rate to be extended three days prior and three days after our event (subject to availability).
The scenic Vail Valley is a new and refreshing destination for our Annual Meeting. This year’s meeting represents the opportunity to step away from your routine to rejuvenate in the crisp mountain air and enjoy the spectacular views. The Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek is a beautiful, modern resort surrounded by scenic mountain views and a picturesque river. The village of Avon is walkable and the resort provides complimentary transportation to both Beaver Creek Village and Vail Village.
Registration is now open and I look forward to welcoming many of our members to what promises to be a memorable PCI Annual Meeting. Visit www.powdercoating.org to register today.
