The Powder Coating Institute’s 2015 Hall of Fame Inductees Honored

Posted on Thursday, December 17, 2015

PCI held their annual Hall of Fame Dinner during the Annual Meeting in September at the Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, Nevada.  This year three individuals were inducted to the PCI Hall of Fame, each has served the association for many years and was nominated by industry peers because of their efforts, accomplishments and contributions to PCI and the industry.

The Hall of Fame recognition was initiated in 2001 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Powder Coating Institute and the powder coating industry.  The nominees will have made  significant contributions and are also required to be retired or have a minimum of 15 years in the industry.  The nominations are made by PCI members with the final  selection made by the PCI Board of Directors.

awards to Tim O’Brien (left) and Greg Bocchi

at PCI’s Annual Meeting.

This year, honorees of this prestigious recognition are Greg Bocchi, Tim O’Brien and Don Tyler.  Greg Bocchi was executive director of PCI for 24 years.  Greg managed PCI through the early years and saw the growth of its programs, trade show, benefits and the industry at large. His plans and skillful execution resulted in the meteoric growth of the organization from 1984 through 2008. Greg was dedicated to PCI and its mission and transformed the association into a well-respected industry leader.

Tim O'Brien has served PCI for 35 years as legal counsel. His involvement and dedication began with PCI’s inception and has spanned across many Boards of Directors and initiatives too numerous to count.  PCI is grateful for Tim’s support and service throughout the years.

Don Tyler, who recently passed away on December 11, was dedicated to the growth and success of PCI and the powder coating industry.  He was a member of the founding PCI Board of Directors and served for many years and worked on various committees. First as a formulator and then later, as General Manager of Volstatic, Don’s contributions to the application equipment industry helped further the growth of powder coatings.  PCI was privileged to have his service for so many years and bestow this honor during his lifetime.

PCI extends its sincere appreciation for the exceptional contributions made by Greg, Tim and Don and congratulates them on their Hall of Fame induction.
