KMI Celebrates 30 Years
Posted on Sunday, June 1, 2014
KMI Systems celebrated
its 30th anniversary on April
4, 2014. Since 1984, KMI’s
mission has been to engineer,
design and build powder, paint
and porcelain enamel finishing
systems at a reasonable cost
within the project schedule.
According to KMI president
Kevin Coursin, “These
systems must be reliable,
environmentally friendly, and
low maintenance. They must
have low operating costs and
produce high quality finishes.
KMI’s commitment to its
customers doesn’t end at system
completion.”
When three men in the
finishing industry—Jim McRoy,
Lou Kolar and Vik Desai—
decided to leave their jobs at
a finishing company to start
their own, one could have
only speculated that KMI’s 30th
anniversary party would double
as a retirement celebration for
Jim McRoy. On April 5 this
year, the company gathered at
a local reception hall in Crystal
Lake, Ill., to celebrate McRoy’s
beginning and retirement at
KMI.
“The company has seen a
tremendous amount of growth
in the last several years, and we
plan to continue that for at least
the next thirty years,” Coursin
says.
KMI’s world headquarters
are located in Crystal Lake,
Ill., with regional offices
in Monterrey, Mexico, and
Nanjing, China.
