A panel discussion on Supplier Diversity Drives Your Bottom Line will be led by national and local industry leaders. WBDC’s Breakfast is recognized as the signature women’s business summit in Connecticut. Fran Pastore, WBDC president and CEO, announced that Jill R. Hummel, President, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Connecticut, will be the honoree and State Representative Patricia Billie Miller (D), Deputy Speaker of the House, 145th Assembly District, Stamford, will receive an award for her unwavering support of women entrepreneurs and business owners in Connecticut. A client of WBDC, Paola C. Hernandez, owner of TropiGlace, an ice cream shop renowned for its use of fresh South American fruits, will receive the Deb Ziegler Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
The panelists are: Amanda Brown, President Obama’s appointee and National Women’s Business Council Executive Director, Beverlee F. Dacey, Amodex Products, President/Owner, Angela Guzman, Comcast NBC Universal, Senior Manager, Supplier Diversity and Laura Taylor, Pitney Bowes, Director, Procurement. It will be moderated by Susan Wilson Solovic, a recognized national expert on small business who appears on ABC News and Fox.
Following the discussion there will be two breakout groups: one lead by Molly Kellogg, President/CEO of Hubbard-Hall Inc., entitled Rosie the Riveter in the 21st Century: Women Leaders in Manufacturing, and in the second, Jack Mitchell, Chairman, Mitchells Family of Stores, will present proven techniques from his bestselling and recently updated book Hug Your Customers: The Proven Way to Personalize Sales and Achieve Astounding Results.
