PCI® 2013: New Products, New Services

Posted on Friday, February 1, 2013

The Powder Coating Institute (PCI®) is committed to serving its members in the North American powder coating industry by promoting the benefits of powder coating to manufacturers, consumers and government.

In 2013, PCI® is embarking on a series of new products and new services that will be of interest to companies throughout the industry. In January, we introduced the first of our monthly eNewsletters for New Products that is emailed to the entire list of PCI® members and related professionals. This eNewsletter is designed to bring the latest products in the powder industry to our members every month, while generating sales leads for our advertisers.

In February, we introduced a White Paper section on the PCI® website www.powdercoating. org. This section, available to Members Only, allows technical and application information and data to be placed on the web site at NO charge to our members. White Papers are important to help advance technology and share information with companies around the world.

In March, we plan to introduce the PCI® Job Board, which will allow a completely interactive web-based system for employers and job seekers alike who are looking for the very best match of skills and experience. This Job Board will be dedicated to the powder coating industry.

Also in March, we will debut the SOS program, which stands for Powder Coating Specifications Online. Housed on the PCI® home page at www. powdercoating.org, the SOS program provides an electronic product to select the best process options for any powder application. The user simply answers questions from a list and the program will advance to the next question to define the process and powder material. The outcome is a specification with explanations for the user. In addition, the SOS is an educational tool to help entry level users give more accurate input to Custom Coaters.

The most important product for the PCI® is the Powder Coating Show to be held in St. Louis October 8-10, 2013. The buzz generated by the show last year has carried over to 2013. For 2013, we have more to see and do than ever before with another auction, more prizes, more exhibitors and even Spanish language conference sessions. Check out the information at www.powdercoatingshow.com. Look for more new products and services, along with our nine workshops, five webinars, Custom Coater Summit, Powder Coating Summit and of course the newly re-designed Powder Coated Tough magazine in print and digital format. PCI® is committed to serving its members and the industry in every way possible. For more information, contact me at dlurie@powdercoating.org.
