Indexing Oven for Wind Turbine Parts

This gas-fired three lane oven with
an indexing cart drive system is
designed to cure coatings on various
parts for wind turbines. The parts
are a mix of steel and alloy with
the largest weighing 300lbs. The
industrial oven has a production
rate of 40 carts per hour. The oven
chamber is 10'5" wide x 41'3" long x
12'7" high. The maximum temperature
rating is 300°F with a normal
operating temperature of 140°F. The
oven uses a three-lane indexing cart
conveyance system that includes a
floor-mounted chain drive system.
Seventy non-powered carts rated at
a 500lb maximum were also supplied
with the oven. The company’s
Paragon Processor PLC System was
included with the oven. This system
utilizes an Allen-Bradley Micrologix
1100 PLC with touch screen controls
and a Eurotherm 3216 temperature
controller. The system provides
the recipe programming (up to 20
programs), and Ethernet communication
capability.
